Our Mission
Within the framework of self-determination, to assist and encourage consumers to achieve and maintain their optimum level of functioning in the community. CMHA receives funding from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care through the Southeastern Ontario Local Health Integration Network, and provides the following program functions:
Transportation
The transportation services is intended to help consumers who are residing in the Leeds and Grenville community attend psychiatric or psychological appointments, medical, counseling or therapy appointments. The service is delivered with the assistance of volunteer drivers, many of whom are consumers themselves. The services’ objective is to support community integration and improve quality of life for consumers.
Adult Mental Health Court Diversion & Court Support Services
Services offered include diversion, consultation and education. These services are offered for criminal court matters in both Brockville and Kemptville courts for those 18 years and older.
Family Support Services
The Family Mental Health Support Network is a service available to family and friends of people who are experiencing mental illness throughout Leeds Grenville and Lanark counties. General Support Group meeting give family members an opportunity to meet in a confidential, informal setting to share, listen and support each other. As a networking resource, CMHA will assist interested persons with education, referral to services, and linkages to other existing support groups.
Public Education
The Leeds and Grenville Branch has an extensive collection of books available on loan, pamphlets concerning mental health issues, and information on service agencies available to the community. Group presentations are also available for those interested in learning more about mental health issues.
Information Services Program
CMHA’s information services program assists citizens to access information or referrals to community services throughout the catchments area. Staff at the Branch are knowledgeable of community resources, and are able to direct interested persons to appropriate and available services.
Off the Wall Youth Program
The Off the Wall Youth Program is a drop-in activity center for community youth 9-17 years-of-age, and provides a safe and secure environment. The center provides a mixture of drop-in and scheduled activities, events and guest speakers. Supervision is provided by CMHA staff and the center is open Monday to Thursday from 6:00-9:00pm in our office at 25 Front Avenue West. Please enter through the main door across from Hydro One.
